Jefferson Banner

Reviving a Jefferson tradition in cyberspace
Once the seventh-oldest newspaper in Wisconsin, the Jefferson Banner published from the 1850s until the late 1980s. Now it lives again in cyberspace! It will become your best source of up-to-date information for events in the Jefferson area.
  • For more background and our high hopes for the Banner area of goJefferson.com, see the About page.
Opinion
Everyone's got one, but most people don't publish a newspaper or own a radio or television station.  Jump to the Opinion page for piles of personal expression.
  • If you have something to say, drop us a note and we'll publish it.  It doesn't matter if you are left or right, correct or incorrect, Republican or Democrat, Green, Libertarian or Communist.
If you can send it to us in an e-mail, we'll probably print it. However, no anonymous submissions unless you've got a darn good reason.
News
We'll publish local news in new ways.
Radio
The Web isn't just text and pictures.  Chances are, if you have a multimedia-capable computer, you can download and play sounds, too.
  • Our first sounds are the first sounds that many Jefferson area residents hear in the morning even without a computer - the news on Fort Atkinson's WFAW radio.   See the WFAW page for our experiments in archiving the morning news broadcasts.
Classifieds
What's a newspaper without advertisements?  The most popular spot is the Classifieds.  They're free at the Jefferson Banner.
