JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD MINUTES

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2000, 7:00 P.M.

Mr. Wendell A. Wilson and Mr. Raymond C. Kisow presiding.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Wilson.

Mr. Lehmann led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A moment of silence was observed.

Mr. Kisow, member of the Budget Committee, moved that the proposed 2001 Jefferson County Budget be taken from the table. Seconded and carried.

Mr. Kisow moved that the Board consider the proposed 2001 Budget as if in Committee of the Whole. Seconded and carried.

The floor was opened for public comment.

In regard to the budgeting of $75,000 for the repair of the Indianford Dam, 198 persons signed in of which 28 spoke. Those speaking in favor of $75,000 being included in the budget for repairing the Indianford Dam were: Frank Micale (Rock River-Koshkonong Association), Jim Folk, Jerry Richardson, William Lux, Scott Feldt (Rock County Board Supervisor), Terry Maybee (Rock County Board Chair), Leonard J. Mueller, Jr., LaVerne Behrens, Dawn Sleaver (Blackhawk Boat Club), Tom Kelly, Tom Abernethy (Willowmere Gun Club), Laurie Jackowski, Curtis Abendroth, Linn Duesterbeck, Alan Hannam, Todd Olson, Pat Cardinali, Jan Kernan, Rev. Jerome Hudziak, Scott Pitzner, Paul Meyer, Al Shuda, Darrell Prisk, Robert Scherrer, Carrie Chisholm (Fort Atkinson Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Director), Terrie Demoe, Cindy Hamre Incha, and Henry L. Huttner. Those speaking against approval of $75,000 being included in the budget for repair of the Indianford Dam were: Charles David, Hope Oostdik, and Carl Zentner.

County Clerk Barbara Frank read letters from Gloria & Jim Muirhead and Lillian E. Amacher in favor of the budgeted money for the Indianford Dam.

Wendell Wilson addressed the group thanking them for their comments.

Greg David and Sue Marx spoke to the Board regarding the Jefferson County Land Trust.

Johanna Chirowsky addressed the Board in regard to the feasibility study for relocation of a portion of Highway B in the Town of Lake Mills.

Hope Oostdik spoke to the Board on the need for a portable speed control monitor and the parks master plan.

David Olsen addressed the Board in support of the Economic Development Corporation.

Mr. Kisow moved that the proposed 2001 Budget be laid on the table. Seconded and carried.

Mr. Lehmann moved that the Board adjourn. Seconded and carried at 8:47 p.m.
