Commerce and Industry Association

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

1. Call to Order

Meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m. by President Morgan. Present: Peggy Beyer, Arnie Brawders, Bob Martin, Sue Prosser, Dave Schornack, Gary Thompson and Dave Olsen.

2. Approval of Minutes

Minutes from the last meeting were not available.

3. Approval of Financial Report

Financial report was reviewed.

It was suggested that any check written to the person signing the check should have a double signature. It was also felt that any check written for an amount exceeding $1,000 should have a double signature. The people authorized to sign checks will be the Executive Director, Mayor, or the President of the Commerce and Industry Association Board of Directors.

It was suggested that we perform an audit of the CIA account. Gary Thompson and Bob Martin volunteered to assist.

4. Election of Officers

An election was held for the officers of the Commerce and Industry Association Board of Directors. Gary Thompson was elected president and Bob Martin was elected vice president.

5. New Business

There was discussion on the need for the City of Jefferson to send a message to local businesses that they are important and the city wants to support them as much as possible.

6. Adjourn

The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
