Bare discussed the status of Christmas decorations. Discussed getting lights back into the trees and a sound system wired downtown. Brawders felt that as the trees get bigger it is a good idea to figure out a way to get lights on them. Brawders suggested that we might be able to get sponsors.
5. Jefferson Development Corporation Update
Wisconsin Furniture has not made a decision about where they want to go. JDC has offered Ganser $9,200 per acre and is willing to allow her to retain 3 of the 36 acres. Olsen will be talking with the new council to get an idea of how theyd feel about this purchase. It was suggested the joint Common Council - JDC meeting should be held as soon as possible.
6. Common Council Update
Brawders reported on the failed referendum. He will be appointing a police department site committee and a senior citizens facilities committee. The problem still needs to be addressed. There will be a Committee of the Whole meeting on April 28th which will feature a tour of city facilities. Olsen reported that both the Jefferson Development Corporation and the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce decided not to take any position regarding the police station site. Van Lieshout reported that the Jefferson County Bank is willing to sell their property adjacent to the south industrial park. Discussed the District "A" election which is currently being contested in circuit court.
