The special meeting of the Common Council was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Brawders. On call of the roll members present were: Mayor Brawders, Ald. Wendorf, Ald. Carnes, Ald. Rogers, Ald. Polk, Ald. Wendt, and Ald. Oppermann. Absent were Ald. Wagner and Ald. Beyer. Also present was City Administrator Frantz, City Engineer Ludwig, Police Chief Besel, and Parks & Recreation Director Endl.

interviews of planning consultants for city of jefferson master plan

The Common Council then proceeded with interviews of four firms to retain as planning consultants and to prepare the City of Jefferson Master Plan. Those firms interviewed in order were: Vandewalle Inc., Discovery Group, Inc., Planning Design Institute, and Landscape Architects, Inc.

The Mayor and Common Council interviewed the four candidates, providing 30 minutes for presentations and then time for questions and answers.

Subsequent to the interviews, the Mayor and Common Council discussed the attributes of the different proposals and came to the unanimous consensus that Vandewalle Associates offered the best services to the City.


BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Jefferson that the City Administrator is hereby authorized to contract with Vandewalle Associates, Madison, Wisconsin, for the update of the City of Jefferson Comprehensive Master Plan and ongoing consulting services.

Ald. Wendt, seconded by Ald. Rogers moved to accept Resolution No. 65. The motion carried unanimously.

Ald. Carnes, seconded by Ald. Wendorf moved to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.

These minutes of the August 28, 1996, special meeting of the Common Council are uncorrected. Any corrections made thereto will be noted in the proceedings at which time the minutes are approved.
