MINUTES

CITY OF JEFFERSON COMMON COUNCIL MEETING

TUESDAY, APRIL 6, 1999

 

 

The Tuesday, April 6, 1999, meeting of the City of Jefferson Common Council was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Brawders. Members present: Ald. Wagner, Ald. Coffman, Ald. Carnes, Ald. Wenzel, Ald. Stevens, Ald. Johann, Ald. Tennyson and Ald. Beyer. Also present were City Administrator Schornack, City Attorney Scheibel and Police Chief Besel.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Mayor Brawders stated that he had received a letter from School Superintendent Scott Pierce concerning a bridge across the Crawfish River.

Mayor Brawders read a letter from Patricia and Lowell Starkey stating that they wished to pledge $100.00 each towards the Milwaukee Street Walk Bridge project.

Mayor Brawders read a letter from Ida Mae Marshall stating that she was in support of the Milwaukee Street Walk Bridge and would pledge $1000.00.

 

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No persons were present.

Ald. Stevens, seconded by Ald. Tennyson moved to adjourn to closed session pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(c) of the Wisconsin State Statutes related to the hire of a City Clerk/Treasurer.

On call of the roll the motion carried unanimously.

Ald. Beyer, seconded by Ald. Tennyson moved to reconvene to open session. On call of the roll the motion carried unanimously.

 

HIRE OF CITY CLERK/TREASURER

Ald. Wagner introduced resolution No. 162.

 

CITY OF JEFFERSON

RESOLUTION NO. 162

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Jefferson that the City Administrator is hereby authorized to hire Tanya Parlow for the position of City Clerk/Treasurer at a salary of $38,500.

Ald. Wagner, seconded by Ald. Carnes moved to recommend Resolution No. 162. On call the roll the motion carried unanimously.

The City Engineer joined the Council Meeting.

Ald. Beyer, seconded by Ald. Stevens moved to adjourn the April 6, 1999 meeting of the City of Jefferson Common Council. The motion carried unanimously.

These minutes of the April 6, 1999, meeting of the Common Council are uncorrected. Any corrections made there to will be noted in the proceedings at which time the minutes are approved.
