Attending: Coffman, Dempsey, Guttenberg, Hamann, Lewis, Martin, Olsen, Pierce, Schornack and Thomsen.
1. Call to Order 6:45 a.m. by Vice-President Martin.
2. Approval of Minutes
Motion (Thomsen/Dempsey) to approve minutes of May 19, 1998 and special meeting of May 26, 1998. MOTION CARRIED
3. Review of Joint Meeting with Common Council
Feeling was that the meeting went very well. Morgan was complimented for his wonderful presentation on the history of the JDC.
4. Update on Ganser Property
Estella has made an appointment to visit with an attorney regarding our offer.
5. Update on (Redacted)
(Redacted) has informed us they are no longer interested in locating in Jefferson. Discussed some of the reasons behind their decision. It was suggested we talk with (redacted) to get an option on their land.
6. Update on South Industrial Park - John Wendorf
John Wendorf has informed us he is no longer interested in purchasing additional property in the South Industrial Park. It was suggested we talk with Generac to determine their needs.
7. South Industrial Park Land Price Formula
The Jefferson Common Council adopted the price formula at their meeting of June 2, 1998. Coffman explained why he opposed that price formula.
8. Rental of Gross Storage Barn
Schornack reported on this situation. Bert Weisflog has retained an attorney to represent him.
9. Status of Sally Gross Home
Schornack reported that the fire department is interested in burning the house for training.
10. St. Coletta Community Leadership Group
Sister Ann Mary is the interim CEO. She will be meeting with the community leadership group soon. This group was formed last fall and this will be their third meeting.
11. Update on Bill Lehman's Prospect
Bill Lehman, Department of Commerce Area Development Manager for District 5, has contacted us with a prospect for the North Industrial Park. Olsen has forwarded all requested information and now we are awaiting a decision. This prospect is a heavy manufacturer with heavy electrical needs.
12. Marketing Plan
Michael Hughes and David Buckley, of The Barry Company, gave a presentation on listing the North Industrial Park with their company. Olsen urged board members to call him to share their thoughts.
