JOINT PUBLIC HEARING - PLAN COMMISSION AND VILLAGE BOARD

APRIL 6, 2000

President Maegli called the public hearing to order at 7:16 p.m. Trustees in attendance: Maegli, Kasper, Stout, Remmel, Albertz and Ninmann. Absent: O’Neil. Plan Commissioners in attendance: Klockow, Manogue, Schopp and Wishowski. Absent: Zick. Also in attendance: Naomi MacDonald, Mrs. Morse, Dave Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Haumschild, Mr. Veith, Mr. Rupprecht, Ron Ulsberger, several residents of Sanctuary Court and others.

After several questions regarding wetlands and the difference between Institutional and Conservancy zonings, Engineer Kunkel and Attorney Hammes explained that DNR regulations do not allow for any building within 75' of wetlands and that just because a property contains wetlands, that does not mean it is zoned Conservancy. The zoning change for these parcels is required to allow the Village to add on to the wastewater treatment plant and to build a new Department of Public Works facility. These buildings will not be built on wetlands.

A letter was read from Kathy Evans regarding the rezoning.

A Klockow/Remmel motion carried to close the public hearing at 7:34 p.m.
